Building Codes

Tremco Fire Protection Systems Group has independently tested and listed systems that meet the requirements for passive fire protection in the following building codes.

ICC (International Code Council)-IBC (International Building Code)
BOCA (Building Officials and Code Administrators International)-NBC (National Building Code)
ICBO (International Conference of Building Officials)-UBC (Uniform Building Code)
SBCCI (Southern Building Code Congress International)-SBC (Standard Building Code)

*In 2000, BOCA, ICBO and SBCCI consolidated into the ICC. Model building codes from each of these have been adopted in different regions in the United States. Please contact your local Authority Having Jurisdiction for the codes that apply to your project.

NBC (National Building Code of Canada)

NFPA (National Fire Protection Association)

The National Fire Protection Association has developed model building codes for passive fire protection including:
    NFPA 70: NEC (National Electric Code)
    NFPA 101: LSC (Life Safety Code)
    NFPA 90A: Standard for the installation of Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Systems
    NFPA 90B: Standard for the installation of Warm Air Heating and Air-Conditioning Systems

Certifications and Approvals

ICC-ES (International Code Council; Evaluation Service)

The International Code Council Evaluation Service maintains evaluations of products for conformance to the following model building codes:
    BOCA (Building Officials and Code Administrators International)-NBC (National Building Code)
    ICBO (International Conference of Building Officials)-UBC(Uniform Building Code)
    SBCCI (Southern Building Code Congress International)-SBC (Standard Building Code)
